How We Got Here
Firm Power was founded in 2014 by a team of power systems engineers who had spent careers designing backup power for data centers, hospitals, and defense installations. They kept solving the same problem: facilities that couldn't tolerate downtime were still fundamentally dependent on a grid that wasn't designed with them in mind.
The founding team spent three years in R&D before shipping their first commercial system — a 2 MW installation for a regional hospital network in the Pacific Northwest. That system has operated at 99.999% availability since commissioning. It's still running.
Today, Firm Power systems generate over 400 MW of continuous power across North America, serving data centers, manufacturing facilities, healthcare campuses, and critical government infrastructure. Every system is monitored 24/7 from our operations center in Denver.
